Using HPC “cloud-friendly” offerings is not a fluid shared IaaS transaction. Sure, they are hosted in cloud data centers, but these are dedicated clusters and customers must contact cloud sales orgs for access. Plus, customer cluster configs are dedicated while in use. That said, something like Cray’s Slingshot interconnect might be really useful in future HPC clouds, but HPE acquired Cray and… hey, wait, HPE also took a big stake in Pensando…
